Dewen Wang, Ph.D. in Economics, Senior SocialProtection Economist, Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice, World Bank. His work covers both policy analysis and lending operations in the areas of aging and aged care, social insurance, social assistance, labor market and employment. He contributed to the flagship report—A Silver Lining: Productive and Inclusive Aging for Malaysia. He is now co-leading the World Bank engagement on aging in Malaysia and China and providing technical support for countries in the East Asia and Pacific region. He also co-authored three books on China’s pension system reform and contributed to three China Flagship reports: China 2030, Urban China and Innovative China. Before joining the World Bank, he was Professor and Division Chief of the Institute of Population and Labor Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He also had work experience at the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture.
