Belinda Broughton

Belinda is overall project manager for Smartline, responsible for all aspects of the programme from compliance with funding requirements to ensuring our activities are in line with project plans and targets.

Belinda is the project manager for Smartline, a research and innovation project using technology to help people live healthier and happier lives.

She is responsible for the project management and delivery of the project.

This includes budget monitoring, project governance, project planning, risk management, team building, and developing good working relationships across the partnership.

Belinda joined the University of Exeter in September 2012 as part of the Innovation, Impact and Business team based on the Penryn Campus in Cornwall. She supported the business engagement activities of the Knowledge Exchange Managers and worked to ensure all projects were compliant with European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) protocols.

She also undertook a 15 month secondment as the ESIF Research Finance Manager, leading the team responsible for the University of Exeter’s ESIF portfolio.

Outside of work Belinda enjoys baking, bodyboarding and being outdoors – especially walking on a beach or in the countryside with her family and dog, where she finds peace and happiness.
